Det er ingen tvil om at MyHeritage har ambisjoner om å ta opp konkurransen med ancestry.com. Det er ikke mer enn en måned siden MyHeritage overtok Geni. Hei Vidar- og fortsatt God Jul,

Jeg kan ikke forstå hvordan du kan lese denne annonsen so om at MyHeritage har tatt over FTDNA. Hva jeg forstår er at de to firmaene sammarbeider litt og jeg får litt billigere adgang til MyHeritage database.

Hei Svein,

Mange takk for kommentaren din. Det er mulig at jeg har tok i litt mye, men da jeg fant en MyHeritage nettside som presenterte autosomal testen Family Finder som et MyHeritage produkt som man kunne bestille på deres nettsider så ga det inntrykk av at det var mer enn et samarbeide. Jeg har idag prøvd å finne denne nettsiden igjen uten å lykkes og URL http://www.myheritage.no/dna-tests bringer meg til en ikke relevant nettside, så her må det ha skjedd noe de siste dagene.

MyHeritage påstår at de totalt har over 65 millioner "medlemmer" og over 330 000 "medlemmer" i Norge. FTDNA blir små i en slik sammenheng og et samarbeide vil ofte føre til at den minste blir slukt.

At MyHeritage oppnår en slik interesse i Norge viser at det bør være et enormt potensiale for slektsforskerforeninger i Norge.
